Bait

Speaking with first hand knowledge as a man, I can declare that in a man’s sphere of existence, there are certain things that immediately capture his interest and certain things that serve as white noise.  Marketing people sometimes call those attention-getters “Bait”.  Bait images drag a man’s eyes away from other pages in the magazine toward their page.  Bait images pull a man’s eyes from the road ahead of him to a billboard on the side.  Man-bait keeps men watching commercials.  Why do you think in that popular beer commercial, when three men are speaking about one of them losing his man card, there are beautiful women mixed into the background of the image.  Three men talking is white noise.  Three men talking with beautiful women hanging around is interesting, to a man at least.

Take my Sophia’s tits for example (shown here for your enjoyment).   Prime man-bait.  Hustler was brilliant to plaster their name on a top that would be worn by women.  It’s a man’s mag.  Putting the name on a man’s shirt would ensure it wouldn’t be read by men.  But on that rare occasion it shows up stretched across a woman’s tits, men will read the logo and remember.  Perfect bait.

I don’t expect you to remember a word of what I’ve written, but I bet you’ll remember the details of that picture.  God, I love marketing.
